These instructions will save you time and help you better understand the registration process.
What you will need
You will need:
- your Social Insurance Number
- your mother’s maiden name or parent’s last name at birth
- your birth date
You will be asked to input this information in Step 4.
Who’s hiring?

Your business
If you are the owner of the business:
- Create your own personal user account.
- Register as an employer using your payroll account number (e.g. 123456789RP0001).
- Create and submit job postings.
Note: If other individuals require access to your employer file, they will have to create their own user account.

Your employer
If you are an employee of the business:
- Create your own personal user account. Don’t create a user account for your boss or colleagues.
- Register your employer using their payroll account number (e.g. 123456789RP0001).
- Create and submit job postings.
Note: If other individuals require access to your employer’s file, they will have to create their own user account.

Your client
If you wish to register your client’s business with Job Bank and post jobs under their name:
- Create your own personal user account. Don’t create a user account for your client.
- Register your client as an employer. Always use your client’s payroll account number (e.g. 123456789RP0001) to set up the employer file.Important! You can set up and manage multiple employer files from your user account.
- Identify yourself as a third-party representative on each employer file.
- Create and submit job postings
Note: If other individuals require access to your client’s employer file, they will have to create their own user account. We strongly recommend that your client also have a user account.

A placement agency
If you work for an agency that offers employment services:
- Create your own personal user account. Don’t create a user account for someone else.
- Register your agency as an employer using the agency’s payroll account number (e.g. 123456789RP0001).
- Create and submit job postings.
You will be required to provide the contact information of the agency’s client every time you submit a job posting.
Note: If other individuals require access to the agency’s employer file, they will have to create their own user account.

A friend or relative
If you are a friend or relative of the employer:
- Create your own personal user account. Don’t create a user account for your friend or relative.
- Register your friend and relative as an employer using their payroll account number (e.g. 123456789RP0001).
- Identify yourself as a third-party representative acting on behalf of your friend or relative.
- Create and submit job postings.
Note: If other individuals require access to the employer file, they will have to create their own user account. We strongly recommend that your friend or relative also have a user account.
